Leeds United are aiming to complete the signings of Joe Rodon and Max Aarons before Saturday’s trip to Birmingham City.

That is according to Phil Hay of the Athletic, who reports the Whites are looking to get the deals wrapped up quickly with talks now at an advanced stage for both players.

Rodon is now in the process of completing the formalities of a season-long-loan switch from Tottenham Hotspur after an agreement was reached between the two clubs.

Leeds’ need for a new centre-back became even more pressing following the injury to Liam Cooper on Sunday, who is set to be out for the next eight weeks.

Aarons, meanwhile, is set to move to Elland Road on a permanent deal from Norwich City after entering the final 12 months of his deal at Carrow Road.

Leeds want Aarons and Rodon done before Birmingham

Despite being just one game into the season, Leeds are in the midst of an injury crisis and have clearly stepped up their transfer plans.

Rodon has already proven himself to be a superb centre-back at this level and will be looking to recapture the form from his Swansea City days that earned him a move to Spurs.

Aarons, meanwhile, has been one of the best right-backs in the Championship for a number of years now and at just 23, still has plenty of room to develop.

It wasn’t that long ago that Norwich were turning down big money offers from Bayern Munich and Barcelona for his signature.

Both will represent huge additions to Leeds’ defensive options, which has been an area of concern for several years.
