Leeds United are closing in on the signing of Tottenham Hotspur defender Djed Spence.
That is according to Phil Hay of the Athletic, who reports it will be a straight season-long-loan with no option-to-buy, which could be wrapped up in the next 48 hours.
Spence has not yet undergone a medical ahead of his move and Leeds are expected to pay a loan fee of somewhere in the region of £1 million.
Leeds are in the market for new full-backs before Friday’s 11pm deadline and it appears as though Spence will be the first through the door of a potentially hectic week.
Spence emerged as Leeds’ top right-back target after a move for Max Aarons fell through earlier this month, as Bournemouth swooped in at the 11th hour.

Spence only joined Spurs from Middlesbrough in a £20 million deal last summer, but has struggled to really establish himself as a regular.
The 23-year-old is not currently part of Ange Postecoglou’s plans at Spurs but the fact no purchase option will be included in the deal is an indicator they may want him to return.
This would be an unbelievable signing for Leeds if they are able to get it over the line, with Spence having already proven how good he is at this level at Nottingham Forest.
Spence has pace to burn and is a real threat going forward, and would provide a significant upgrade to Luke Ayling in that position.
He could be the first of four or five signings through the door this week as Leeds target a left-back, central midfielder and number 10.
