Phil Hay has told The Athletic that there is little chance that even if Jesse Marsch is given the sack by Leeds United, Sean Dyche will not be considered for the role at Elland Road. Dyche has been linked with the Elland Road job.
Marsch, 48, remains under intense pressure. We sit in the drop zone after a winless run of eight, going two months since our last win – the 3-0 win over Chelsea. Seven points from our first three, two from the next eight games.
Alexi Lalas, an ex-United States international, says that Marsch could be in his final week as Leeds manager. Dyche appeared on Monday Night Football this week, a sign that the 51-year-old is looking for a return to management.
The English gaffer is without a job since being sacked by Burnley earlier this year. The club that Leeds obviously beat to avoid relegation to the Championship. Hay was asked if Dyche could replace Marsch, belittling any chance.
“Nobody at Elland Road has been hinting at alternatives to Marsch or shortlists of replacements, safe to say that Sean Dyche would not be among them if Marsch was to fall,” Hay reported, on The Athletic’s website.

Hay: Little chance Dyche will be considered by Leeds
The right move. We at LeedsUnited.News hope that things work out with Marsch, and it starts this weekend with a win over Liverpool. We can dream. If we lose to Liverpool, and then Marsch loses at Bournemouth, he could go.
So, who could replace him? We looked at five out-of-work managers that might be tempted with a move to Elland Road. Dyche does remain out of work, but given our style, our type of players, Dyche’s style will not win fans over.
If Marsch does go, bringing Dyche would be worse. If Dyche’s system was to work, he would need the likes of Chris Wood, Charlie Taylor and other big, strong players. Leeds do not have that. It simply would not work.
