Peter Crouch posts brilliant reaction to Leeds links with Harry Redknapp

Peter Crouch has taken to Twitter to react to reports Harry Redknapp has informed Leeds United that he is open to taking over as a manager on an interim basis.

Leeds, of course, remain without a permanent boss more than a week since Jesse Marsch was sacked. Unfortunately, the American left with the Whites in the jaws of the relegation zone in the Premier League.

It is fair to say that Leeds’ managerial pursuit has not gone to plan. As reported by The Times, the club have been linked with, and not appointed: Andoni Iraola, Raul, Arne Slot, Carlos Corberan and Alfred Schreuder. And several other names have been mentioned.

Crouch reacts as Redknapp eyes Leeds job

Leeds have reacted to two positive performances against Manchester United by confirming that Michael Skubala will remain in interim charge for the upcoming fixtures.

That has given the board some extra time. But it seems that another name has now thrown his hat into the ring.

According to a report from the Daily Mirror, Harry Redknapp has told Leeds that he would be prepared to come out of retirement to take a short-term role at Elland Road.

The news is a big surprise. Redknapp has not managed since a disappointing spell at Birmingham City back in 2017. And it has been even longer since he worked in the Premier League.

It would be a shock if Leeds decided to turn to the 75-year-old. But it seems that one pundit is ready to join Redknapp by coming out of retirement.

Crouch has now taken to Twitter to joke that he is also keen to move to Leeds…

Of course, Crouch is one of the players Redknapp is famous for signing on a number of occasions. He worked with him at Portsmouth, Southampton and Tottenham.

Admittedly, we would have loved a player with over 100 Premier League goals to arrive in January. However, Crouch is not who we had in mind.

Neither is Redknapp when it comes to a new manager. As much as we appreciate the interest, we desperately hope that Michael Skubala can steady the ship until the board can nail the next appointment.
