Paul Robinson has taken to Twitter after Leeds United confirmed the sacking of boss Jesse Marsch – by saying the club have made a mistake in not appointing Sean Dyche as manager of the club, with Dyche since taking over at Everton.

Leeds have confirmed that the club have sacked 49-year-old Marsch. It comes after a defeat to Nottingham Forest on Sunday. Just two wins since August, in the Premier League. Fans have been calling for his sacking for quite a while now.

Marsch has now gone, and Leeds are under pressure to make a quick appointment. West Brom boss Carlos Corberan is being linked with a return to Elland Road. It is unclear if the club are looking at any other potential replacements.

Ex-Leeds stopper Robinson has given his reaction on Twitter, not long after the club confirmed the sacking of Marsch. He says that wins over Bournemouth and Liverpool saved the American going into the World Cup break in January.

Robinson also believes that the ideal appointment will have been Sean Dyche. He has since been appointed Everton boss, and the Toffees beat Arsenal in his first match, winning 1-0. He thinks Leeds have missed out on the ideal boss.

Would Dyche have appeased Leeds fans? Right now, we as a fanbase just want to stay in the Premier League. Results are the order of the day. If it meant a change in style and a more pragmatic approach, then so be it. Even, with Dyche.

But, you have to say, that Dyche would not have fit the approach Leeds are trying to take. Corberan certainly does, but he lacks the Premier League know how that may be required. It will be interesting to see what other bosses are linked.
