Patrick Bamford is the talk of Leeds United’s pre-season so far, in spite of the fact Daniel Farke’s side are yet to play a game.

The Leeds United squad is starting to take shape ahead of the 2025/26 Premier League season, and the 31-year-old will hope to be a part of it one more time.

The truth is Bamford has dealt with criticism from Leeds fans for a number of years now, having become increasingly injury-prone in the latter seasons of his career in West Yorkshire.

Bamford is working hard as he heads into his eighth season with the club and Leeds fans are already amazed at Bamford’s new physique with further images since emerging.

Leeds fans are loving Patrick Bamford’s transformation as Marcelo Bielsa comparison made

Bamford’s wife has been helping the Leeds striker with his gym routine, as Bamford has worked hard in the off-season before pre-season, and he is showing the merits of that already.

For the most part, Leeds fans are lapping it up. Many are hoping it is the return of Bamford’s best times at the club, with one last dance mooted in what is the final year of his Elland Road contract.

Fans took to Twitter/X to reminisce about the Marcelo Bielsa era at the club, as well as compare Bamford’s transformation to Adama Traore.

Another added: “He has literally become Traore. Just needs that baby oil on his arms and we’re golden.”

Another Leeds fan said: “I pray for COVID bamford 2.0 🤣🤞”

One response explained the one and only missing thing to improve, adding: “I do hope he has been working on his finishing as well.💪💪💪”

Patrick Bamford explains his Leeds pre-season schedule ahead of the Premier League

Speaking via LUTV yesterday, Bamford explained his work so far. He said: “There’s nothing that can prepare you fully.

“You can do as much as much as you want in the off-season but it’s different when you’re in proper training with the group.

“But it’s good. It’s good to be back. Maybe 25 years ago it was a full on six-week break, but now I think because the level is so high, and you’re always pushing for your place and stuff, everyone tries to keep as fit as possible.

“And also, if you don’t, you pay for it when you come back. So, it’s worthwhile doing it.”

On potentially imparting wisdom on a squad lacking Premier League experience, Bamford added: “Hopefully! We know, we’ve seen it over the last few years with the teams that have just come up, it is tough.

“But we’ve also shown before that we’ve come up and absolutely flown into the Premier League. So, there is no reason why we can’t do it.

“Hopefully I can give a little bit of experience and advice to the players who haven’t been there. But I think we’ll be fine. We’ve got a good group and got great spirit amongst us.”
