Patrick Bamford says Leeds United’s biggest fine is if one of the players fails to turn up on time on a match day for a meeting, having text fine master Luke Ayling in the latest episode of his podcast.
As managers come and go, it seems that Ayling has always been the one in charge of the fines and it is probably not a surprise to hear it is ‘Bill’ in control. With Daniel Farke in place, there is still a fines list.
There has been plenty of revelations on social media of other club’s fines list appearing. Often, being late and failing to turn up for things like meal times, results in the biggest fines. It’s no different at Leeds.
Speaking to Joe Wilkinson in the latest episode of the My Mate’s A Footballer Podcast, Bamford texts fines master Ayling to confirm with him the biggest fine – and how much that fine is, a huge £1000.
“He’s just text saying, he doesn’t have the fine list. So I asked what’s the biggest one. He replied saying, if you’re late on a matchday for any of the meal times or meetings, it’s a grand. Yeah. That’s a big one.”

It is good to hear that the biggest fine is one put in place to prevent players from showing tardiness, or being late. Standards need to be high in a team that are pushing for promotion at the end of the season.
But it also a sign of how much these Leeds players get paid. You can imagine the fines were a whole lot more excessive in the Premier League. Since our relegation, the wages have been cut at Elland Road.
