Leeds United defender Pascal Struijk is now approaching two months on the sidelines due to injury.
Struijk has not played since the Boxing Day defeat to Preston North End with his recovery having taken considerably longer than Daniel Farke had expected.
However, Farke had positive news to bring on the 24-year-old’s fitness in his press conference yesterday, saying that fresh scans this week have given him the green light to step up his workload.
Struijk could then return to full training in the next two-and-a-half-weeks, though any involvement in the team is likely to come after the March international break.
And now Struijk has given a little update of his own on Instagram, posting four photos of him doing gym work alongside some of his teammates, with the caption: “Working my way back.”

Struijk had been a big player under Farke during the first half of the season and so he has been a big miss, though Leeds have managed to cope well in his absence.
Ethan Ampadu has dropped into the centre-back position, with Ilia Gruev coming into midfield. Both players have been excellent over the last couple of months and really covered his absence.
Leeds have won eight of the nine league matches Struijk has been out for, conceding just two goals in the process. That said, Leeds have certainly missed him, particularly on the ball and from attacking set-pieces.
However, thankfully it looks as though Struijk has been able to step up his recovery this week meaning there is finally light at the end of the tunnel for him to get back playing.
Leeds will need everyone available for that run-in after the international break in what is likely to be a promotion race that goes right down to the wire.
