Marc Roca has told Spanish outlet Onda Cero that he is delighted with how things are going at loan side Real Betis this season, after leaving Leeds United on loan. The Spaniard has been in exceptional form.
Roca, 26, has started eight of Betis’ nine matches in both league and cup this season – and on Sunday, starred in a 3-0 win over Valencia. The midfielder netting his side’s second, and getting a lucky assist.
But there was nothing lucky about his goal – powering a header into the back of the net from a corner. He is shining in green and white, as Manuel Pellegrini looks to deliver domestic and European success.
Spanish outlet AS claim Roca has a £10m clause in his loan deal at the La Liga club. Leeds will be hoping his form will tempt Betis into striking a permanent deal and Roca is very keen, underlying his happiness.
“I’m having a good time, I’m enjoying it,” Roca told Onda Cero, discussing his Betis spell. “We dream big, but we know that we have to stay with our feet on the ground. The year is very long and demanding.”

With Roca, it is simply a case that he could not do it in England or Germany – but Spain, is a different story. He starred for Espanyol previously, making a move to Bayern but he failed to get going in Munich.
A lack of game time perhaps suggested he just needed to join a club where he would play regularly. But a move to Leeds gave him that – and it was further proof that Roca suits Spanish teams. Only, those.
The slower, more technical tempo of La Liga gets the best out of Roca and Pellegrini and Betis are the recipients this season. Betis will want to sign him, Roca will want to go and Leeds will want to sell him.
