Leeds United are back in control of the Championship promotion race thanks to a 2-0 win over Millwall at Elland Road on Wednesday night, after Sheffield United and Burnley dropped points.
Sheffield United conceded a 90th-minute equaliser to Bristol City on Tuesday night, while Burnley could only manage a 1-1 draw with West Brom. Chris Wilder was left furious with his side’s “lethargic” display.
Leeds then, had the chance to go two points clear of Sheffield United and four in front of third-placed Burnley and they did just that. But, the game was not without it’s jeopardy with Leeds not at their best.
Manor Solomon’s low cross on three minutes was deflected towards his goal by Jake Cooper, only to be tipped into the net by the goalkeeper. The scoreline remained 1-0 for the majority of the league game.

Aidy White cannot believe what decision during Leeds win
Eventually, Ao Tanaka scored a gorgeous goal from the edge of the area, another assist for Junior Firpo. But Leeds should have had a second goal in the first half – with Joel Piroe netting a wonderful move.
Brenden Aaronson was better on Wednesday night and his flick was turned in by Piroe, only for the linesman to rule the goal as offside. However, replays showed that actually, Aaronson was onside.
White said during commentary on BBC Radio Leeds: “I really don’t get how the referee has given offside against Leeds. It looks bang-on line to me, Joel Piroe looks devastated.”

Joel Piroe’s reason to be devastated is understandable
What was a perfectly legitimate goal, has been chalked off. But Piroe will have been more frustrated than normal for two reasons – the first, with Norwich’s Borja Sainz going above him in the goalscoring charts.
Not only that, but the disallowed goal comes after a game in which Piroe missed two sitters for Leeds. The Dutchman will have been desperate to get his name on the score sheet, but it was ruled offside.
Piroe then, unfortunate. But the bigger picture is the prize, and that is Leeds are back on top of the Championship and sitting two points ahead of Sheffield United, a game away from the March break.
