The second signing of the Marcelo Bielsa era at Leeds United has found a new club, as he looks to get a promising career back on track.
Marcelo Bielsa made six senior signings in his first summer at Leeds United as he looked to transform the Whites from serial mid-table finishers to genuine title contenders.
Two of the signings would go on to become regular members of Leeds’ squad in the Premier League, as Patrick Bamford joined from Middlesbrough and winger Jack Harrison joined on an initial loan deal from Manchester City.
However, none of the other players made a significant mark for Leeds, with several drifting down through the leagues.
Jamal Blackman is one of those who failed to live up to their promise, as injury cut his time at Leeds short. Now he has found a new club as he looks to rebuild his career.

Second Marcelo Bielsa signing at Leeds United finds new club
Blackman joined Leeds on a season-long loan from Chelsea with a growing reputation in the game. He had spent the previous season on loan with Sheffield United and impressed, playing 31 times.
With only Leeds academy products Bailey Peacock-Farrell and Will Huffer for competition, Blackman was expected to stake his claim for a regular starting spot in the Leeds side.
However, Blackman suffered a fractured tibia in a Leeds under-23 game against Birmingham City, which cut his career at Elland Road short before he had the chance to make a senior appearance at the club.
The former Chelsea man has enjoyed a nomadic career since finally leaving Chelsea permanently in 2021, spending last season at Shrewsbury Town, featuring 18 times.
Now, the 31-year-old has secured his next move, signing for Morecambe on a short-term deal which will initially run until January 2026.

Aside from Bamford and Harrison, Barry Douglas was the most successful arrival on the list, having spent two years at Leeds and played a part in Leeds’ promotion to the Premier League in 2019/20.
