Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou remains in the ‘mix’ to take over at Leeds United as the Premier League side eye a replacement for Jesse Marsch after his sacking – and Mark Viduka is impressed with Postecoglou’s work in Glasgow.
Postecoglou, 57, has starred as Celtic manager since taking over in the summer of 2021. Joining a Celtic side in need of major surgery after Rangers won the 2020-21 season unbeaten, he did everything that was asked of him at Parkhead.
Superb in the transfer market, a new system successfully installed and a mix of camaraderie and work rate transmitted – Postecoglou’s Celtic seem almost unbeatable. A League title in 21-22 is likely to be followed this season – nine clear.
But will Postecoglou see it through – or will he join Leeds? The Record claim Leeds are still keen on a move for the Celtic boss. Ally McCoist says he would drive Postecoglou to Elland Road. Leeds have been rejected twice already.

Carlos Corberan signed a new deal at West Brom instead of returning to Leeds. Now, Rayo Vallecano have rejected an approach from Leeds for Andoni Iraola. So, Postecoglou remains an option. Viduka recently said he was proud of Ange.
“Congratulations on the job you’ve done at Celtic. You’ve done a great job. A big responsibility, a big club, pressure,” Viduka told Nova Sports, as per Celts Are Here. “Keep flying the flag for Aussies in Europe, we’re very proud of you.”
Postecoglou in Leeds mix: Viduka impressed with his work at Celtic
What a job Postecoglou is doing. So much so, that it has earned praise from a man such as Viduka – who Leeds signed from Celtic. Viduka is renowned for being tight-lipped and even, slightly confrontational. But he is proud of big Ange.
But it is that success that he is having at Celtic that is likely going to deny Leeds in their hunt to lure the Aussie down south. Postecoglou is on a 12-month rolling contract at Celtic and if the interest came in the summer? More likely.
