The Mirror claim Leeds are now considering an approach to bring in Steven Gerrard after number of managers have rejected a move to Elland Road – with Gerrard thought to be keen on a move, alongside assistant Gary MacAllister.
Leeds have seen moves for Andoni Iraola, Carlos Corberan and Marcelo Gallardo rejected. Meanwhile, bosses Arne Slot and Ange Postecoglou have publicly declared they are not leaving table-topping Feyenoord or Celtic to join Leeds.
The search for a manager is now dragging on with Michael Skubala set to take on his second game. Having got a draw at Old Trafford against Manchester United on Wednesday, he will be in the dugout to face them again on Sunday.
Now, the Mirror claim Leeds could turn to Liverpool legend Gerrard – who is out of work since being sacked by Aston Villa. Of course, a move for Gerrard would see the return of ex-Leeds player and manager, MacAllister, to Elland Road.
Gerrard was criticised for his work at Aston Villa – and it has tarnished his reputation. But, he did wonders with Rangers, toppling Celtic to win the league unbeaten in 2020-21. They are desperate to manage in the top tier of England again.

Leeds considering approach to bring in Gerrard, MacAllister return
The appointment of Gerrard would hardly encourage fans. But the Leeds board have suffered numerous rejections over the past few days. All of which, were in work. Leeds must change tact to get a manager in in the fight against the drop.
Gerrard gives them a manager keen to come in, and without having to deal with a club first. Yes, his last job did not go to plan, and he would have to prove a whole lot to fans. But, he is a big name and it would be an exciting appointment.
