The Guardian claim that West Ham are interested in raiding West Brom to bring in manager Carlos Corberan as a possible replacement for David Moyes – just a few weeks after he was strongly linked with a return to Leeds United.
Corberan, 39, has returned to English football and excelled as manager of the Baggies. It comes after a superb two-year stint at Huddersfield, which was then followed by a woeful spell in Greece with Olympiakos earlier this season.
Just 11 games at Olympiakos saw him sacked – having won only twice. He returned to England, with West Brom taking a chance on him as Steve Bruce’s replacement. He has taken West Brom a relegation scrap to play-off contention.
A recent run of bad form, just one win in five league games, has derailed that slightly. But West Brom are in much better shape since Corberan’s arrival, winning 11 of his 19 games. Leeds tried to bring him back to Elland Road.
Corberan managed the Under-21’s for a number of years and worked as Marcelo Bielsa’s assistant. But, he chose to stay put – signing a new deal. Now, the Guardian report that West Ham could move – with Moyes under pressure.

Corberan has been superb at West Brom, and indeed, on a shoe string at Huddersfield. The Terriers’ poor form this season shows just how impressive it was that the Spanish gaffer took them to the play-off final last season.
Rejecting Leeds, it would be a surprise to see him jump ship for West Ham. Perhaps, he will be tempted if an approach from the Hammers comes in the summer rather than, right now. But, he has signed a new deal and is likely to stay.
