Spanish outlet SPORT claim Barcelona could consider offers at the end of the season for Raphinha just two years after he left Leeds United – with Newcastle United and Chelsea said to be interested.

Raphinha, 25, has come in for plenty of criticism ever since he arrived at Barcelona. Perhaps, given the amount of cash Barca are supposed to have paid for the Brazilian. Last season, he played 50 matches.

In that time, Raphinha had a hand in 22 goals – an impressive first season in terms of numbers. Despite his form, it has not stopped the criticism of his performances. This season, he has failed to get going.

In 11 games, Raphinha has had to endure injury and a red card in a Barcelona shirt – only managing two goals and three assists. The report from SPORT states that Barcelona are evaluating Raphinha this term.

They may decide that if he fails to meet the required standard, he could be made available for a transfer next summer. Newcastle and Chelsea are listed as clubs that are interested and will keep tabs on him.

Newcastle and Chelsea keen on Raphinha after 2022 Leeds exit

It was inevitable that Raphinha was going to leave Leeds in 2022 after he scored in the game that kept us in the Premier League. He starred for Leeds. A genuine superstar, one of the best in the last 20 years.

He might have remained in England before his move to Barcelona and now, he could be on his way back. The money is in the Premier League. For the kind of cash needed, only English clubs can afford him.

So, potentially, just two years after leaving England following his move from Leeds to the Nou Camp, Raphinha could be back in England to join Newcastle or Chelsea. Plenty to happen until then, though.
