‘Never in my life’… Matthew Lewis stunned by what Leeds United player did vs Swansea tonight

Matthew Lewis has explained why Leeds United star Georginio Rutter celebrated by pretending to perform a magic trick after scoring our second goal on Wednesday night against Swansea City.

Rutter netted his fourth goal for Leeds on Wednesday as the Whites got back to winning ways against struggling Swansea. Daniel Farke reverted to what is seen as his strongest first eleven at the moment.

Sam Byram and Pascal Struijk returned to the defence in place of Liam Cooper and Sam Byram. But it was the same side, apart from that, that started against Rotherham. Leeds ran out 3-1 winners.

Things didn’t get off to a good start. Jamie Paterson broke the deadlock inside a minute for the Welsh side – but Joel Piroe haunted his old side moments later, equalising for Leeds in the fourth minute.

It was Rutter that put Leeds ahead just before the break, controlling a long ball forward with a gorgeous first touch and finishing with his left foot. Dan James got a third, Rutter nabbing himself an assist.

Matthew Lewis shares why Georginio Rutter did wand celebration

A comfortable win after a poor start for Leeds, with two ex-Swansea players finding themselves on the score sheet. A brilliant night for Rutter in particular, who has now had a hand in 10 goals in the League.

Rutter spent time with Lewis – who is the host of the Leeds United podcast and of course, plays Neville Longbottom in Harry Potter – at the start of the week, with pictures emerging on their Instagram stories.

Lewis took to Twitter during the match after Rutter scored, with the Frenchman galloping along the dead ball line – pointing an imaginary wand into the crowd. He said that he had asked Rutter to do it.
