Leeds United central defender Liam Cooper has praised Sam Greenwood for his heroics for Middlesbrough this weekend.

Greenwood is on loan at Middlesbrough from Leeds at the moment, and Cooper seems pleased with the young forward.

So, what is being said about Leeds United-owned Middlesbrough forward Sam Greenwood?

Let’s take a look.

What’s the story?

Well, Middlesbrough won against Leicester City on Saturday.

Boro got the better of Leicester 1-0 at the Riverside Stadium in the Championship.

Sam Greenwood scored the goal in the 83rd minute.

The 21-year-old found the back of the net with a brilliant free kick.

Greenwood started on the left of an attacking midfield-three in a 4-2-3-1 formation.

Leeds United defender Liam Cooper is among many who have praised Greenwood for his heroics, as you can see below.

The English youngster has made seven starts and four substitute appearances in the Championship for Middlesbrough this season.

The 21-year-old has scored four goals in those games.

Sam Greenwood goal for Middlesbrough helps Leeds United

Interestingly, Sam Greenwood has helped Leeds United this weekend.

Like Leicester City, Leeds are on the hunt for automatic promotion back to the Premier League.

The Foxes have now lost their last two Championship matches.

Leicester are at the top of the Championship table with 39 points from 16 matches, level on points with second-placed Ipswich Town.

Leeds are now third with 31 points from 16 games.

Daniel Farke’s side are very much in the running for an automatic promotion spot.

I believe that if Leeds continue to win matches and play the way they are doing right now, then they will end up in the top two.

It is only the middle of November.

Although Leicester and Ipswich have been the two best teams in the Championship so far this season, things could change in the coming weeks and months.
