Michael Skubala has told Friday’s press conference – as per the club’s YouTube – stating that Leeds United defender Pascal Struijk will miss Sunday, but Liam Cooper, Marc Roca and Luis Sinisterra could all face Manchester United.

With Jesse Marsch sacked on Monday, U21 boss Skubala took charge of Wednesday’s clash against Manchester United. He came away with a superb 2-2 draw, which saw Leeds go 2-0 up at Old Trafford – before conceding two.

Talks over bringing in a new manager have stuttered and faltered. Carlos Corberan, Andoni Iraola and Marcelo Gallardo have all been approached, but moves have failed. Arne Slot remains the favourite, but there are doubts.

Skubala gave an injury update on Friday. Sinisterra and Struijk came off in the first half at Old Trafford. Cooper and Roca were missing with slight injuries. Skubala says Struijk will be missing – but Roca, Cooper and Sini could be fit.

“Pascal has concussion, they will follow concussion protocols. He will be missing. Liam and Marc, we are assessing so we will see if we can get them involved – taking time. Luis – we think he will be okay, but Sunday might be early.”

Struijk, 23, has been first-choice at left-back. But he is now set to miss out. If Cooper is potentially missing then it could be Junior Firpo comes in on the left of defence, as he did at Old Trafford. His form has improved recently.

Roca may be fit but the chances are, after the displays of Tyler Adams and Weston McKennie, he may struggle to get a place in the side. If Cooper is fit, Wober may be moved to the left side of the defence. It is very up in the air.
