Michael Bridges has told Leeds United’s official podcast that new signing Jaidon Anthony is a coach’s dream after he came off the bench in the win over Watford and had an instant impact, scoring our third.
Anthony, 23, joined Leeds on loan on deadline day. He has since managed three substitute appearances for the club, against Millwall, Hull and then on Saturday – in the 3-0 victory over Watford. Comfortable.
The winger had chances against Millwall and looked sharp in the 0-0 draw with Hull, in which Leeds had been reduced to 10 men. Anthony finally got his goal on Saturday, finishing well into the far corner.
It came after a stunning assist from Georginio Rutter. Anthony, one of nine new signings in the summer at Leeds, was a guest on the latest episode of the Leeds pod with Bridges and presenter Matt Lewis.
Bridges was incredibly complimentary of a player that Leeds got in a swap with Luis Sinisterra, who has only managed one sub outing for Bournemouth. Bridges explained why Anthony is a coach’s dream.
“When you see players, that make an impact off the bench, like Jaidon did scoring on Saturday – you’re looking for that mindset, response. You don’t want players sulking, you want them to be ready.
“I’m in coaching, body language is a big thing. You want players to come on and give everything. What we have seen with Jaidon, it is a coach’s dream to have someone like that,” Bridges added, this week.

The way Anthony spoke on the latest podcast shows just the kind of person he is. He seems a really decent lad, and that is only going to leave him a good place moving forward for the rest of the season.
With Willy Gnonto injured until after the international break, Anthony has a real chance of starting for Leeds for the first time – with QPR coming on Wednesday, and then Bristol City next weekend.
