Max Aarons and Reece James were amongst those to send a message to Jaidon Anthony on social media after the winger scored his first goal for Leeds United in Saturday’s win over Watford.

Anthony took to Instagram after scoring the final goal in the 3-0 victory which lifts Daniel Farke’s men into the play-off places in the Championship.

Jaidon Anthony has made a very bright start to life on loan with Leeds. The winger handed the Whites a late boost on deadline day, moving to Elland Road as Luis Sinisterra got his move to Bournemouth.

The 23-year-old is yet to start. But he is certainly staking a claim for more opportunities. He took his goal superbly after being played in by Georginio Rutter.

It is frightening to think of the amount of depth Leeds now have in the final third. Had we lost Willy Gnonto to a serious injury last season, it would have been devastating for supporters.

Obviously, it would be better for Farke’s men to have the Italian. But Dan James provided two assists against Watford. Crysencio Summerville is now one of the most reliable performers in the team. And Georginio Rutter produced one of those performances fans will talk about for years to come yesterday.

And Anthony came off the bench to put the exclamation point on the win. The winger has now taken to Instagram to comment on the win. And amongst those to reply was a certain Max Aarons – who decided against a move to Leeds in the summer – as well as Reece James…

Leeds appear to be in a fantastic position. It was a hallmark of the latter stages of Marcelo Bielsa’s tenure that there just did not appear to be any real depth on the bench, and no game-changers.

But Leeds now have someone in the ranks who was being linked with a move to Arsenal as recently as January.

It is surely not going to be too long before he is making his full debut.
