Matt Kilgallon has told The Mail (June 25, page 95) he would be stunned if Leeds United and The 49ers can keep trio Jack Harrison, Rodrigo and Willy Gnonto at Elland Road this summer – following relegation to the Championship.
Failure to remain in the Premier League is likely to cause a mass exodus of players. Liam Cooper predicted so. Gnonto, Harrison and Rodrigo sit at the top of that list. Ben Jacobs says West Ham and Everton want Harrison.
Tyler Adams, Illan Meslier, Robin Koch, Rasmus Kristensen, Marc Roca, Luis Sinisterra, Brenden Aaronson, Georginio Rutter and Cree Summerville are also players to have been linked with the exit door. Big changes are incoming.
Ex-Leeds defender Kilgallon has spoken about the future of the playing squad this summer. Despite the 49ers now in place at Leeds, Kilgallon says he would be surprised if Leeds start the new season with the aforementioned trio.
He spoke in an interview with The Mail over the weekend about the Leeds squad, discussing the futures of the three Leeds men mentioned: “I’d be very surprised if Rodrigo, Willy Gnonto and Jack Harrison are still there next season.”

There seems to be little chance that Leeds will keep any of the three names Kilgallon mentions. Kristensen and Llorente are going to Roma, Tyler Roberts and Weston McKennie have gone. All this, without Leeds naming a boss.
Those three players will not be the only ones to go. But, the 49ers are seemingly fighting hard to convince the likes of Adams and Gnonto at Elland Road. Whether they are successful, time will tell. There will be wholesale changes.
Hopefully, the announcement of a manager will get the ball rolling and those that want to go, go. That then gives the club the money and space to make signings, ahead of a push for instant promotion back to the Premier League.
