Jesse Marsch was full of passion when Crysencio Summerville scored a winner for Leeds United against Liverpool – and asked about his celebration by a Leeds fan on Instagram, Marsch responded saying his wife has questioned his actions.

Coming into the game under huge pressure, 48-year-old Marsch was facing a potential sacking. But he masterminded a sensational performance – while relying on the form of goalkeeper Illan Meslier. Leeds walked away with a 2-1 win.

The Whites were superb. Rodrigo opening the scoring, but his effort cancelled out by Mo Salah. However, the pressing and the counter attack were constant thorns in Liverpool’s side and really, Leeds should have scored more than two.

Brenden Aaronson hit the bar, and Alisson had to make saves. Summerville only got his second-ever Premier League start thanks to Luis Sinisterra’s knock, but he made it count. Speaking after the game, Marsch underlined togetherness.

He repeated “we”, in the mixed zone after the game. On Instagram, he posted a very honest caption regarding the talk this week about his future. Certainly, a whole heap of pressure on Marsch will have been left, ahead of Bournemouth.

Marsch responds to Leeds fan about his celebration

Marsch’s celebration was a bit of a weird one to Summerville’s goal. Turning away as the Leeds players celebrated with the away end, Marsch punched the air in somewhat of a strange style. But it was clear to see the relief on his face.

While it is a massive win over Liverpool, especially at Anfield, the pressure will remain. Leeds have only won three Premier League games out of 12 this season, and sit in 15th. Bournemouth next up at Elland Road is a massive game.

Gary O’Neil had made a wonderful start as caretaker manager at Bournemouth – but they have since lost three games on the spin. A game where Leeds will feel they could, and should, take all three points.

On his Instagram post, Marsch was asked about his somewhat bizarre celebration by a Leeds fan. The American gaffer responded, saying even his wife has been asking what he was doing.
