Marc Roca has taken to his Instagram story to post a four-word message to Victor Orta after Leeds confirmed his exit, after six years at Elland Road as the club’s sporting director – with relegation now looking likelier than ever.

Leeds suffered a 4-1 loss to Bournemouth on Sunday and it looks as if the club are going to make another change in the dugout. It will be the fourth to take charge this season – after Jesse Marsch, Michael Skubala and Javi Gracia.

Gracia has watched his side lose four of the last five and gain only a point in that time, conceding a huge 18 goals in the process. Sunday proved too much and the board have acted. Sam Allardyce is expected to replace Gracia.

Leeds are yet to confirm as much, but it is widely expected that an announcement will arrive on Tuesday evening. Orta, though, has been confirmed as departing. It ends a six-year stint at Leeds, overseeing promotion to the top.

Marc Roca takes to Instagram as Leeds confirm Victor Orta exit

Orta is responsible for a number of stunning signings and he was the brain behind a move for Marcelo Bielsa. He has made a number of wonderful additions in the form of Raphinha, Willy Gnonto, Illan Meslier and plenty more.

But this season, things have not worked. His signings have been woeful. Confrontation with fans, and his choices in the dugout have not worked either. Marsch and now Gracia have failed, after Bielsa had worked so well for Leeds.

Many Leeds players are renowned for stating it was Orta that convinced them over a move to Leeds and clearly, Roca has a good relationship with him. The Leeds midfielder posted on Instagram: “Thanks Victor, always grateful”.
