QPR manager Gareth Ainsworth has delivered a welcome boost for on-loan Leeds star Tyler Roberts by telling West London Sport that the Wales international could be involved this weekend – after three months on the sidelines.
Roberts, 24, has managed just 20 outings in all competitions since joining QPR on loan from Leeds last summer. Firstly, the Wales star suffered an injury which play just 27 minutes for two months between October and December.
Then, in late January, Roberts suffered another injury – this time to his calf. Having missed out on the World Cup in Qatar with his country, it was turning into a nightmare season for Roberts. He returned to Leeds to undergo rehab.
But now, Roberts is back at QPR and Ainsworth says he has been “sharp” in training. The QPR manager says the £4m man could return to the side to take on Coventry City this weekend – with QPR in desperate need of a victory.

“He could be involved. He’s looking sharp in training which is great. He’s been out a long time but we’ve got to be careful. There are four games after this. If we can use him that’d be brilliant. He might be in the squad for Coventry.”

QPR are on a dismal run of form that has seen them win just one of their last 18 Championship fixtures. But, on the weekend, they did come from behind to draw 2-2 with West Brom. A solid result, and a step in the right direction.
Against Coventry at Loftus Roas on Saturday, Ainsworth will want his side to build on the momentum of the draw at the Hawthorns. Getting Roberts back into the squad and perhaps a few minutes on Saturday would really help that.
