French outlet Telefoot claimed on Sunday that Ligue giants Lyon are interested in signing Leeds United ace Georginio Rutter as a replacement for Bradley Barcola – who is set to join PSG for a fee of £51m.
Rutter, 21, opened his account for Leeds on Saturday as Daniel Farke secured his first league win as Leeds manager. A 4-3 win over Ipswich. Rutter equalised after Ipswich went 1-0 up, finishing superbly.
It was his first goal for Leeds since his club-record arrival from Hoffenheim in January. Speaking after the match, Rutter admitted he has found life “difficult” at Leeds – describing last term as “complicated”.
But Saturday might be a turning point for Rutter. However, a new external source could disrupt Rutter and his potential springboard at Leeds. That is because Lyon are looking to raid the Whites for the star.
Barcola is set for PSG, after having a hand in 19 goals in 46 lyon games – having come through the Lyon academy. He needs replacing and Lyon have identified Rutter. Telefoot say Lyon are showing interest.

Lyon interested in signing Leeds attacker Georginio Rutter
While GFFN go one step further and claim contact has been made between Lyon and Leeds over a potential move for the French wonderkid. Whether he wants to join remains to be seen this summer.
Leeds, suddenly, have options in attack. The signing of Joel Piroe, and the outcome of keeping both Willy Gnonto and Luis Sinisterra, means we have numerous players out wide and those to cover Piroe.
But losing Rutter would be a blow. A player that Leeds fans are desperate to shine – and having scored on Saturday, there is hope it is going to be the start of many. Lyon, a return to France, may tempt him.
