So, we are at a stage where all four teams who are involved in the relegation scrap have two games to play. Leeds United need a win – here, all three LeedsUnited.News writers predict the last eight fixtures and who gets relegated.
Forest in 16th are on 34 points, but have the toughest run in. They host Arsenal, before going to in-form Palace. The run-in for 17th-placed Everton – on 32 points – looks favourable. They face Wolves away and Bournemouth at home.
Leeds in 18th go to West Ham – who have returned from Holland after a semi-final win – and then host a struggling Spurs side. Leicester travel to Newcastle and then host the Hammers. Us three writers have predicted the outcome.

Jordan Harris’ predictions
- Forest 2-0 Arsenal, Palace 4-0 Forest.
- Wolves 2-0 Everton, Everton 0-3 Bournemouth.
- West Ham 2-0 Leeds, Leeds 3-3 Spurs
- Newcastle 3-1 Leicester, Leicester 0-4 West Ham.
16th – Forest (37 points), 17th – Leeds (32 points), 18th – Everton (32 points), 19th – Leicester (30 points).
“Unfortunately, I just cannot convince myself that we’re going to repeat the great escape of last year. But Everton have a couple of really tough games to finish, so it may come down to goal difference,” Harris sceptically claims.
“I wish I could say I could see Leeds picking two wins from two to get across the line relatively comfortably. But I can see Tottenham on the final day being like that bizarre Norwich game under Garry Monk [which ended 3-3 in 2017].”
Danny Bloomer’s predictions
- Forest 1-3 Arsenal, Palace 2-2 Forest.
- Wolves 2-1 Everton, Everton 3-1 Bournemouth.
- West Ham 1-2 Leeds, Leeds 2-2 Spurs.
- Newcastle 3-1 Leicester, Leicester 1-1 West Ham.
16th – Everton (35 points), 17th – Leeds (35 points), 18th – Forest (35 points), 19th – Leicester (31 points).

“The pressure being off Arsenal may work in Forest’s favour. Palace are good at home but I can see a point for Forest. Wolves are very strong at home, but Bournemouth are on the beach and that one is a comfortable home win.
“With West Ham likely to be tired after their European exploits, I expect Leeds to nick it. You never know what Spurs side will turn up – nervy Elland Road draw. The Foxes will be relegated against Newcastle at St. James’ Park.”
Will Butcher’s predictions
- Forest 1-2 Arsenal, Palace 2-0 Forest.
- Wolves 2-0 Everton, Everton 1-0 Bournemouth.
- West Ham 1-2 Leeds, Leeds 1-1 Spurs.
- Newcastle 5-1 Leicester, Leicester 0-2 West Ham.
16th – Leeds (35 points), 17th – Everton (35 points), 18th – Forest (34 points), 19th – Leicester (30 points).
“I do not see Forest picking up another point. Yes, some say Arsenal are now done – but they still have enormous quality. Palace are on fire and have been even with safety secured. For Everton, Wolves are strong at Molineux.
“But I do think Everton will beat Bournemouth at Goodison Park. For Leeds, Big Sam has got us fighting. With West Ham playing on Thursday and Michail Antonio limping, we have a shot. A point against Spurs and we survive.”
