Georginio Rutter has posted on Instagram a video of his highlights from Saturday’s 3-0 win over Watford as the Frenchman starred for Leeds United – prompting reaction from Ethan Ampadu and Luke Ayling.
Rutter, 21, has starred this term. Coming into the campaign, his confidence will have been at an all-time low. Hardly used after his club-record move from Hoffenheim in January, tossed aside by Sam Allardyce.
But Daniel Farke has built the team around him, this season. Now, Rutter is paying him back. Four goals and assists in seven Championship games, scoring two and laying on two more. An assist, on Saturday.
His assist on Saturday was a work of art, picking the ball up under pressure in his own half, he managed to get free – via a stepover – finding the space of Jaidon Anthony, who finished the move with aplomb.
Rutter posted a video of his highlights from the win over Watford, producing some incredible skills in a Leeds shirt as Joel Piroe, Sam Byram also netted. The Frenchman is quickly becoming a fan favourite.

He has been sensational. Rutter has been fantastic. Two goals in seven Championship games doesn’t sound incredible, or his missed penalty against Salford. But it is more than that – his transitional play.
Rutter’s ability to switch it up with Piroe, dropping in and linking the midfield – or occupying the central defenders. In the Championship, judging by the way things are going, Rutter will tear this league up.
Clearly, Rutter is not only impressing the fans. He is also impressing his fellow teammates, including Ampadu and Ayling. Both responded to his post on Instagram, Ayling loving that Rutter is feeling happy.
