Leeds defender Cody Drameh was thrown into the starting line-up in his first game for Luton Town on Tuesday as the Hatters earned a late 1-0 win over Cardiff City – and Luton Today gave their verdict on Drameh in their match report.

Elijah Adebayo went from zero to hero at Kenilworth Road. The 25-year-old had the chance to score in a fifth game in a row from the penalty spot, midway through the second half. But he missed his spot-kick – the score remaining at 0-0.

However, it was Adebayo that popped up in the 89th minute to secure all three points for Luton. As for Drameh, he was given a starting role in his first game for Luton since joining the club on loan from Leeds. He lasted 76 minutes.

WhoScored report he enjoyed a good start to life at Luton. Three tackles, seven crosses into the box, two successful dribbles forward and more. Luton Today gave their verdict on his display and clearly, Drameh has made a good start.

“Drameh caught the eye though, with his intent to get forward and impressive delivery, plus showing plenty of willingness to get back and defend when needed as well,” Luton Today report in a match report piece after full-time.

Drameh was right to leave on loan in January. He remains the club’s third-choice option at right-back. But with Luke Ayling out of contract in the summer, it was right that the club kept Drameh. That is, rather than selling permanently.

He returns to the Championship for a second loan spell and he certainly made a lasting impression on debut. Luton fans on social media are impressed with his ability to get forward, willingness to cross the ball and his recovery speed.
