Cody Drameh failed to prevent Wayne Rooney from suffering a 1-0 loss in his first game as Birmingham City boss at Middlesbrough – and Birmingham Live gave Drameh 6/10, explaining some ‘teething issues’.
Drameh, 21, has left Leeds on loan for the third time – joining another Championship side in Birmingham City. He has made a superb start – as he has done on loan with Cardiff City and Luton Town in the past.
Player of the season at Cardiff in half a season. Promotion with Luton. Now, first choice at Birmingham in that he already has two assists in seven games. On Saturday, he started under new manager Rooney.
He, in fact, came up against Sam Greenwood – another play out on loan from Leeds. Birmingham played a system that saw him play as a wing-back going forward, but rushing back to defend as a right-back.
Birmingham Live gave their verdict. Handing Drameh a rating of just 6/10, they explained that there were issues with Drameh playing so high when in possession – meaning he was out of position, defending.
“Drameh played right wing when Blues were in possession before rushing back to defence when attacks broke down. Blues were caught out a few times down the right. Fair to say there were teething issues.”

Rooney’s side did almost come away with a solid point and a clean sheet at The Riverside against a Boro side in good form, after a shaky start. Had Morgan Rogers not scored, it would have been a good point.
But Rogers, who replaced Greenwood on 76 minutes, did find the net and ultimately, that will have left a sour taste in the mouth for Rooney. Teething issues will need to be sorted immediately, by Rooney.
