Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has told Friday’s press conference – as per his club’s YouTube channel – that he expects a tough clash against Leeds United at Elland Road on Monday, and commented on our 5-1 loss to Palace.

Leeds are back in action for the first time in eight days on Monday night, as we welcome Liverpool to Elland Road. Our third game at Elland Road in a row. It comes after a dismal 5-1 loss to Palace, despite dominating the first 45.

Of course, one of Jesse Marsch’s four Premier League wins this season came at Anfield this season. A late winner from Crysencio Summervilla saw Leeds win 2-1, after Mo Salah cancelled out Rodrigo’s opener back in October.

Asked about Monday’s clash against Leeds and his thoughts on Javi Gracia’s side, Klopp said he expects Leeds to fight for their lives at Elland Road at the beginning of next week – given the situation the Whites find themselves in.

“Big fight, massive fight in the situation Leeds are in. These kind of games can happen [against Palace]. They’re a really good team, how they play their counter attacks,” Klopp said on Friday, as per Liverpool’s YouTube channel.

Liverpool manager Klopp expects tough clash against Leeds on Monday

Leeds fans will be nervously looking at the weekend’s results and it could well be, that Leeds find themselves closer to the relegation zone by the time they face Liverpool. Leeds sit in 16th place – two points above the bottom three.

Southampton host in-form Palace, Leicester go to Manchester City, while Forest face Manchester United. So, there is a solid chance that all of the bottom three clubs fail to pick up points. Everton, in 17th, play out-of-form Fulham.

But there is always a shock result and Leeds could drift closer to the relegation zone before we face Liverpool. At this point, every game is crucial and if Leeds can rally and get a result against the Reds, then it would be massive.
