Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has told Friday’s press conference – as per the club’s YouTube – that the Leeds United atmosphere at Elland Road is “proper” ahead of Monday night’s Premier League clash between the two sides.
Leeds go into their final eight games of the season with a tough clash against the Reds, who were close to beating League leaders Arsenal last time out – drawing 2-2. Mo Salah missed a penalty and Aaron Ramsdale was superb.
In terms of games Leeds have got to play over the next few weeks, Liverpool will be one of the toughest – even if we boast home advantage. We also face Bournemouth, Leicester, West Ham, Fulham, Man City, Spurs and Newcastle.
Klopp spoke in his pre-match press conference on Friday morning ahead of the clash on Monday night. He was asked about Leeds and used one word to describe the Elland Road atmosphere – expecting Leeds to be on our toes.
“We expect them to be absolutely on their toes, proper atmosphere, it will be a tough one but we have to build,” Reds manager Klopp told reporters on Friday morning, as published live by Liverpool’s official YouTube channel.

Can Leeds get a result? Of course, we beat them at Anfield 2-1. But it is going to be incredibly tough – especially given Liverpool will be confident after their impressive display against Arsenal, and after a rest of eight days.
Leeds too are rested and hopefully, Max Wober and Willy Gnonto will be fit to feature. Gnonto came off the bench against Palace, while Wober was missing again. If Leeds are to get a result, the “proper” atmosphere will be crucial.
The Whites have to adopt a similar style of play to the one that saw us keep Arsenal at bay for much of the first half in the 4-1 loss in London. Playing on the counter, frustrating to get past. The longer we nullify the Reds, the better.
