Liverpool defender Konstantinos Tsimikas has told the club’s official website that he has plenty of admiration for Leeds United and the way Javi Gracia’s side play – praising our constant work rate, after Leeds won 2-1 at Anfield.
Goals from Rodrigo and Crysencio Summerville cancelled out Mo Salah’s equaliser in the previous fixture – one of only four League wins under Jesse Marsch this season. A shock result but one that gave Marsch a little bit of time.
How, oh how, Gracia could do with replicating that result. Leeds come into the game after a dismal 5-1 defeat to Crystal Palace at Elland Road last time out. We largely dominated the first half, but collapsed in the second 45.
Gracia has come in and won 10 points from 21, a solid start but Sunday’s clash against Palace was seen as a real chance for three points. Tsimikas was full of praise for Leeds, having watched the previous fixture as an unused sub.
“A very hard-working team, everybody runs so much. They had a desire to win the game, even at Anfield. I like the way they play, fight for every ball. If we want to win we have to be on top of all these situations,” Tsimikas said.
“Fight more, win more balls, run more than them. It will be very hard because they showed in all the games they played they fight until the end, so we have to be fully prepared for this game,” Tsimikas told Liverpool’s official site.

Tsimikas, an £11.75m signing, could be in line for a start if Jurgen Klopp identifies the clash as a potential chance to rest his starting players. But, with Liverpool no longer in Europe or any of the Cups, Andy Robertson is likely to start.
Coming up against Robertson is going to be one of Jack Harrison, Luis Sinisterra, Willy Gnonto or Cree Summerville. A crucial contest, in which Leeds must contain the attacking output of Robertson and capitalise in behind at home.
