Liam Cooper has told Leeds United’s official website that he believes he is in the form of his life under Marcelo Bielsa, as the Whites continue to push for promotion.
The 27-year-old has started every Championship game he has been available for. Missing the Swansea draw and win in Norwich to due to an injury he picked up in the warm-up at Swansea.
The Leeds skipper has been crucial to how the Whites have started. Offering a bit of aggression and old-fashioned defending in what is a modern, forward-thinking system.
Ex-Chesterfield defender Cooper told Leeds’ website that he is enjoying his best form under Argentine manager Bielsa. He put it down to the birth of his baby daughter.
“Yeah for sure, yeah. I’m really enjoying my football at the minute,” Cooper said. “Life outside of football is good, I’ve got my baby girl now. I’m just enjoying my life at the moment.
“Obviously it always helps when you’re playing well and playing in a good team. The spirit of the team has been unbelievable. They’re a great bunch of lads and it leaves you in a great stead.”
Cooper has looked a rock at the back but is also proving to be much more comfortable on the ball. He has also scored twice against Stoke City, as well scoring the first against Preston in a 3-0 win.
Leeds currently sit in third place in the Championship table, after picking up just two wins from their last eight matches. But they are expected to earn all three points against Blackburn on Saturday.
