Liam Cooper predicted Leeds talent would be ‘unbelievable’, now he is finally showing just that

Crysencio Summerville has been sensational for Leeds United this season. Saturday felt like a defining moment for Summerville, turning moments of quality into proven class – changing a game by himself.

Summerville equalised with a moment of glory from the edge of the area. In his post-match comments, he even said he aimed for the post – which he hit, the ball kissing the upright before nestling in the net.

His second was more the Summerville that Leeds fans have seen from him, but only in glimpses. His ability to run at pace, and the intelligence to use Jaidon Anthony’s run to then cut inside and score.

A brilliant brace that takes Leeds to third in the League. Liam Cooper gave his verdict on the £1.3m winger back in November 2022, saying the ex-Feyenoord star would have an “unbelievable career”.

“We see it day in, day out. He’s been unbelievable. He’s got to keep pushing, keep striving. We’ll look after him. He’s going to go on and have an unbelievable career,” Cooper told LUTV, nearly a year ago.

Cooper prediction of Summerville now coming true at Leeds

What a player he is turning out to be. Summerville has been in and out of the Leeds side over the past couple of seasons. He was never really given the platform to shine, week in, week out. Now, he has that.

Daniel Farke is giving him the confidence to know that he will start every week – and he is repaying him. In nine Championship games, Summerville has six goals and assists. You’d back him to score this week.

Cooper could see it before many could – getting to see Summerville in training. He knew the pocket-sized ace would be as good as he is showing on the pitch, now. Hopefully, it continues during 23-24.
