Lewis Cook has called Leeds United a ‘great club’ this morning, after reaching 250 appearances in professional football at Bournemouth.
Cook was posting on his official Instagram account where he expressed his gratitude towards both Leeds and Bournemouth for helping him get to this stage of his career.
Cook is a product of Leeds’ academy and was handed his debut at the age of just 17 back in August 2014, having been viewed as one of the best young talents the Whites had produced in several years.
Unfortunately for Cook, his time in Leeds’ first team was during an extremely difficult period for the club due to off-field uncertainty, which ultimately had a knock-on effect for what went on, on the pitch.
Alongside the likes of Sam Byram, Alex Mowatt and Charlie Taylor, he was one of the very few positives during the mid 2010’s, having all progressed through Leeds’ academy at similar times.
Cook hails Leeds as ‘great club’ after reaching 250 apps.
After making 85 appearances for Leeds, he was then sold to Bournemouth in 2016 for around just £6 million, where has has since gone onto reach this career milestone.
Reflecting on the time he has spent at both clubs, he wrote on Instagram: “250 games playing for two great clubs and looking forward to 250 more on the journey. Thanks to all who have helped me on the wat. Really appreciate all the support.”

Cook was always renowned for his ability to go past players with ease while at Leeds, but his time at Bournemouth has seen him have to adapt his game.
The 26-year-old has suffered two very serious knee injuries during his time on the South Coast, and he is now much more of a sitting midfielder.
Had that not been the case, it is likely Cook would be sat here now with more than just the one solitary England cap, which he picked up all the way back in March 2018 against Italy. Either way, it has still been a great career for him so far.
