Leeds United’s 3-0 win at Elland Road discussed by Micah Richards and Gary Lineker on Monday morning

Leeds United were dominant in their 3-0 win over Coventry City on Saturday afternoon at Elland Road and both Gary Lineker and Micah Richards discussed their victory on Monday morning.

Goals from Wilfried Gnonto, Jayden Bogle and Joel Piroe saw Leeds secure a fourth Championship win of the season and a fifth clean sheet in six league games, with Leeds conceding only once in their last six.

Daniel Farke’s approach this season is working wonders, looking to control games in a better fashion that limits opponents in terms of their chances. It has seen Leeds dominate matches without conceding goals.

The Whites were excellent and have now climbed to fifth place in England’s second tier as Farke looks to take Leeds back to the Premier League at the second attempt having suffered defeat in the play-off final.

Micah Richards has often spoke of his love for Leeds and on the latest episode of The Rest Is Football, he and Gary Lineker spoke about the “mighty” Leeds and their comfortable 3-0 win over Mark Robins’ side.

Gary Lineker and Micah Richards discuss Leeds win over Coventry

In the first of a busy run of games that sees Leeds play three times in six days, with the next clash coming on Tuesday night against Norwich City. Then, Leeds go to Sunderland on Friday night, away from home.

Leeds could be without Ethan Ampadu on Tuesday which will be a blow, but Richards was delighted to see Leeds pick up a 3-0 win and a fourth victory of the season, with Lineker highlighting how close it is.

Richards told The Rest Is Football: “You are not going to mention the mighty Leeds, no? 3-0 win at home to Coventry.” Gary Lineker replied to Richards, explaining how tight it is in England’s second tier.

“I don’t need to because you just mentioned it. It is quite tight at the top of the championship. I think six clubs separated by about three points, but I suppose you will expect that,” Lineker said about Leeds.

Where do Leeds sit in the table and how far off the top?

Leeds climbed into fifth place from sixth on Saturday. Currently, just seven points separate first place from 12th place, the whole top half of the Championship table with Leeds two points off leaders West Brom.

A side managed by Leeds target Carlos Corberan. Two crucial game in the next few days then as Leeds take on two sides currently residing in the top 10, taking on tenth-placed Norwich and then Sunderland.

Alongside Ampadu, Leeds will also be without the likes of Max Wober, Dan James and probably Manor Solomon. Whether there are any other injuries, we will find out when Farke speaks to the media today.
