Football finance expert Kieran Maguire has taken to Twitter to tell Leeds United fans that the ownership of Elland Road has now switched to The 49ers – ending Andrea Radrizzani‘s involvement in the club.

Companies House published reports of the Leeds United takeover last week, taking a good few months to finally publish details of the 49ers taking over from Radrizzani. But nothing mentioned Elland Road.

Phil Hay reported on The Athletic the previous ownership model. Elland Road Ltd was a company that owned the ground, with Radrizzani boasting a 71% stake in that company. But, it was set to change.

Indeed, sources had told Hay that a change was due soon – via Companies House. A change that would see the new Leeds ownership take 100% control of Elland Road Ltd, ending Radrizzani’s 71% stake.

Now, Maguire – renowned for his knowledge of football finance – has published on Twitter a screen shot of Companies House confirming Radrizzani’s ownership and indeed stake in Elland Road has ended.

Maguire: Elland Road ownership has changed, Radrizzani gone

Hurrah. Finally, any remaining ties between Leeds and Radrizzani – in the eyes of Companies House, the official outlet for ownership of businesses – have now ended. Elland Road is in full control of The 49ers.

A brilliant bit of news and Leeds as a club, and the club’s fans, can now fully look forward to an era that does not include Sampdoria’s new owner. What is also a positive, is that Elland Road is fully the 49ers.

Or, at least the Elland Road Ltd company that owns the ground, is now owned by The 49ers. Surely, it will allow Leeds to pocket all the turnover of what the ground makes in terms of ticket sales, now.
