Leeds United have learned who they will face first upon their triumphant return to the Premier League.

It feels like an age since Leeds United secured their remarkable Championship title victory with Manor Solomon’s last winner at Plymouth, and even longer since their promotion was officially confirmed.

Daniel Farke guided his side to a 100-point finish but the joy and wild celebrations have already faded into the rear view and all eyes are focused on the exciting season ahead.

Leeds will play their first Premier League game in over two years this August when the 2025-26 campaign begins and the Whites now know who they will be facing on that highly anticipated day, including a familiar face.

Leeds United’s opening Premier League fixture of 2025-26 is against Everton

Leeds now know they will return to the top flight by welcoming Everton to Elland Road in what is bound to be an incredible atmosphere.

However, Leeds will have to wait for the opening game as it has been selected for Monday Night Football coverage. The game will take place on Monday, August 18 and kick off at 8pm.

Leeds will be on their travels in their next match with a tough first away outing to Arsenal before returning home to take on Newcastle in a tricky opening stretch.

Fixtures against Wolves, Bournemouth, Archie Gray’s Tottenham and Burnley will also then follow in an early crucial run of games in the quest for survival.

Leeds will be taking on Premier League stalwarts Everton on the opening day, which is a cracking fixture.

There is also added intrigue in that it will see former CEO Angus Kinnear immediately return to Leeds following his move to Everton this past summer.

Leeds have a great historical record over the Toffees but haven’t managed to defeat them since the 1-0 win at Goodison Park in November 2020. Raphinha scored the decisive goal that day.

The sides last met in Leeds’ last Premier League campaign, with Everton getting the 1-0 victory thanks to Seamus Coleman’s second-half strike.
