Leeds United made 10 signings in the summer, and while a good majority of those have made a positive impact so far, it is difficult to pick which has been the club’s best bit of business.
Sean Longstaff, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Noah Okafor, Lukas Nmecha, and Lucas Perri have all made solid contributions so far in a Leeds shirt. Jaka Bijol, Sebastiaan Bornauw, and James Justin are yet to start.
Only two signings have started every Premier League match so far, in the form of Anton Stach and Gabriel Gudmundsson. Stach is currently joint-third in the Premier League for chances created, a total of 13.
On the left, Gudmundsson has been excellent. The Sweden international has bounced back well after his bizarre own goal against Fulham, with many believing that Gudmundsson has resolved the left-back issue.

Bought for just £10m from Lille, he is already proving he is easily worth that fee. Leeds may have secured Gudmundsson at a cheaper rate than they might have done, had he not been in the final year of his deal.
Speaking to BBC Radio Leeds this week, Gudmundsson was asked by Adam Pope if he felt he had made the right decision to join Leeds this summer, with other clubs linked with a move for the left-back.
“I’m so satisfied and happy with my decision. We’ve had a good start so far, but many games ahead. It’s a long journey, but a good journey. I’m happy with my performances. We have a goal we want to achieve.”
Which other clubs were linked with a move for Gudmundsson?
No doubt, David Moyes will have been frustrated in Leeds and Everton’s first game of the season. That is, after Everton showed interest in Gudmundsson, but Moyes was forced to play James Garner at left-back.
Scott Parker’s Burnley were also interested in signing Gudmundsson, as was Jose Mourinho while he was Fenerbahce manager. But Leeds won the race and landed Gudmundsson’s signature above them all.
Gudmundsson chose to join Leeds after spotting a fan soon after hearing of Leeds’ interest. If his move to join Leeds was down to a little bit of fate, his performances in a Leeds shirt have been anything but.
