The January transfer window is now wide open for business and Leeds United may look to make some winter additions.
It’s been a strong start to the Championship season for Leeds United and they are well in the running to finally return to the Premier League.
Winning the title will be tough though as they’re engaged in a three-way battle with Yorkshire foes Sheffield United and Burnley for top spot.
What might give any of the sides the edge in the second half of the campaign is if and how they recruit in the January transfer window.
A little bit of additional quality in key areas could be the difference and here are the Leeds squad numbers available for any potential additions to Daniel Farke’s squad.

12
The No.12 has swapped hands over the last two years, with Tyler Adams and Jaidon Anthony wearing the shirt but it’s now available for any incoming players.
13
A number almost always worn by goalkeepers at Elland Road, the No.13 has been free for some time and with Leeds not on the lookout for another shot-stopper it will likely stay free.
15
The emotional retirement of beloved Leeds legend Stuart Dallas at the end of last season meant the No.15 jersey became available for the first time in eight years. Whoever picks it next will have big shoes to fill.
16
Technically, the No.16 is taken by Sonny Perkins but he is spending the season out on loan at Leyton Orient. With his contract at Leeds expiring in the summer, it seems unlikely he’ll play for the club again so it could be given to someone else in January.
18
Some big names have worn the No.18 in the past with the likes of Pontus Jansson and Raphinha donning the shirt and it’s available for another player to make their name wearing it.
20
Daniel James wore No.20 last season but swapped it once No.7 became available so it’s up for grabs.
24
Leeds did start the season with a No.24 but Georginio Rutter’s late transfer to Brighton means they are now without one.
27
Ian Poveda’s summer exit has freed up the No.27 shirt and it’s available for any new arrivals during the opening month of 2025.
28
Max Gradel, Gaetano Berardi and Weston McKennie are all previous wearers of 28 and it’s now free after Karl Darlow decided to swap it for No.26 instead.
Numbers 32, 33, 34, 35, 36, 37 and 38 are also available.
