Leeds United pre-season 2023: Fixtures, how to watch, tickets and everything you need to know

Leeds United are heading back to Norway for the first time in eight years to kick off their pre-season in 2023. So here is everything you need to know about the Elland Road outfit’s plans.

The Whites have now begun to confirm their schedule for this summer as the West Yorkshire team prepare to return to the Championship. Sam Allardyce was unable to steady the ship to keep Leeds in the Premier League. They return to the second tier after just three years away.

Plenty of changes to Leeds’ first-team squad are now likely over the summer as Elland Road chiefs look to create a promotion-worthy side. Fans will get their first chance to see any new signings over Leeds’ pre-season with plans for their 2023 tour now starting to take shape…

When does Leeds United’s pre-season start?

Leeds United ordered their first-team players to return to Thorp Arch on July 3, 2023 to start their pre-season training. But the Whites gave those who were on international duty in June until July 10 to return. The dates also mark their first working under new coach Daniel Farke.

Elland Road chiefs set July 3 and 10, 2023 for their return dates for pre-season training with their first friendly booked for July 12. It is a slightly later start date compared to 2022. They played their first friendly of the summer on July 7 before then flying to Australia on July 14.

Leeds United’s fixture list for their 2023 pre-season

As of July 12, Leeds United have confirmed four pre-season friendlies during the summer of 2023. The Whites delayed confirming their plans whilst the club was unsure of what division they would be playing in over 2023/24. But they plan to share further fixtures in due course.

Leeds will start their pre-season in 2023 by taking on Manchester United in Oslo. The match represents the first time that the two rivals will have met in Norway. It will also mark the first time that the Whites play in Norway since they played TSG Hoffenheim in Lillestrom in 2015.

Further fixtures with Ligue 1 team AS Monaco and Scottish Premiership outfit Hearts joined Leeds’ 2023 pre-season schedule on July 3. The Whites will host the Principality side at York City’s LNER Community Stadium before facing Hearts just before the Championship term.

How to watch Leeds United’s 2023 pre-season fixtures

Leeds United are yet to confirm if their pre-season fixtures will be broadcast for fans in the UK to watch on TV. But Whites fans can follow the Elland Road outfit’s pre-season schedule via their LUTV channel. Leeds showed all of their friendlies on their in-house media in 2022.

Leeds United have announced the on-sale dates for fans to buy tickets to attend the Whites’ pre-season friendlies in 2023. The Elland Road outfit also sold out their full allocation for the club’s encounter against Manchester United in Oslo to start their summer schedule this year.
