Leeds United are among a host of clubs who hold a ‘real interest’ in signing Barnsley attacker Fabio Jalo.
That is according to TeamTalk, who report Premier League trio Brighton & Hove Albion, Everton and Fulham are all keeping tabs on Jalo’s situation, as well as Leeds and Sunderland.
Jalo only moved to Oakwell from Benfica in the summer of 2022 but has already made 15 senior appearances for Barnsley, despite only being 17.
He scored two goals in the EFL Trophy last season but managed to net his first FA Cup goal last Friday, scoring a screamer in Barnsley’s surprising 3-3 draw with Horsham.
Jalo is out of contract in the summer and so January could represent the last chance for Barnsley to earn a fee for him, if he has no intention of putting pen-to-paper on an extension in South Yorkshire.

On top of the aforementioned English clubs keen on the teenager, Sporting club de Portugal are also said to have been monitoring his progress, with a view to offering him a move back to Portugal.
Leeds will need to be in the market for young talent over the next 12 months with their U21s side currently in a difficult position.
Many of Michael Skubala’s current squad have either just progressed from the U18s, or are in need of a loan to go out and play senior football. Lewis Bate, Darko Gyabi and Leo Hjelde are among them.
They will face serious competition from elsewhere, though, with Brighton having been renowned for their ability to develop young talent in recent years.
Sunderland have also gone down that route over the last couple of seasons and so Leeds will have to prove why they would be the best club to come and develop at.
