Leeds United have allowed four players to depart on loan for the 2025/26 season so far, but there will be more to follow.
The reality is that, despite the need for more incomings, Leeds United still need to trim their squad this summer. They have seven players who could still exit Leeds before the deadline.
Max Wober, Charlie Crew, Mateo Joseph, and Joe Gelhardt are the players to so far depart on a temporary basis. The latter, Gelhardt, has rejoined Hull City.
They had to win the race as there was talk of Gelhardt going to Rangers at one stage, but that was swiftly revealed as untrue at the Rangers end. There was also late interest as Middlesbrough pushed for Gelhardt.

Joe Gelhardt praise from EFL expert Ali Maxwell
It’s been said that Leeds were willing to listen to offers for Gelhardt and the 23-year-old attacker also hinted at leaving Leeds for more regular first-team football as well.
Gelhardt is already delighted to return to Hull but the majority of Leeds fans are wishing the best for Gelhardt at the MKM Stadium.
The versatile forward has already featured twice for Hull, with an assist in the 3-3 EFL Cup draw with Wrexham. He can be utilised as a striker or deeper as more of a winger or attacking midfielder and has already done so this term.
EFL expert Ali Maxwell of the Not The Top 20 podcast is excited by ‘Joffy’ and has detailed why. He said: “I’m really excited about the Joe Gelhardt signing for Hull.
“He’s a player I have earmarked for a real — yeah, set to fly this season Gelhardt. And I think for Hull to get him back will be absolutely massive for them.”
He is backed to be one of the stars of the EFL, meaning he could return to Leeds aged 24 and with much higher stock. Gelhardt will then be in the final year of his Elland Road contract.

Ali Maxwell praise for former Leeds youngster Nohan Kenneh
Gelhardt was not the only name praised on the latest episode of the podcast, with former Gelhardt teammate Nohan Kenneh from U-21 level also coming in for significant praise.
After joining Hibernian from Leeds, loans with Ross County and Shrewsbury Town followed before the 22-year-old found a home with Tranmere Rovers.
Maxwell added: “Quite a lot of thoughts about Shrews, which I’ll come on to. But, mainly, Nohan Kenneh, Tranmere midfielder.
“Chomp, chomp, chomp; an absolute interception and midfield ball-winning masterclass here.
“And it led to two goals in the first half. First, he won a big tackle… they scored the second goal after another Kenneh chomp in midfield.”
