Leeds United fans have shared their immediate reaction after the club confirmed that Stuart Dallas will return in a new role.
Stuart Dallas has returned to Leeds in an ambassadorial role, which will also see him mentor the next generation of talent in the Leeds academy.
With Rhys Chadwick spotted training with the first team squad and Harry Gray regularly featuring in Leeds’ matchday squads this season, the future looks bright at Elland Road as the academy continues to produce a steady stream of talent.
Now, Dallas will play an important role in their development as he takes on a new role after his playing career was cruelly cut short through injury.
After Lucas Radebe praised the appointment, Leeds fans have also welcomed the move, taking to social media to share their delight at Dallas’ return after the club’s official announcement.

Posting on the social media site X (formerly Twitter), Leeds fans praised the decision to hand Dallas an official position at Elland Road.
One fan summed up the overriding mood of the Leeds fanbase, stating: “That’s great to see. Such a servant of the club and rightfully so should be given a place in the club’s future, being such a big part of its past.”
Another fan described Dallas’ appointment as a “great move”, in a post which said: “Great move this! Dallas embodies everything great about our club. Really happy that he’s decided to stay with us!”
The man nicknamed the Cookstown Cafu was a firm fan favourite during his playing career with the Whites, and another fan praised his humility, stating: “Brilliant appointment. A lovely, humble man. What an asset to the club going forward. Congratulations, Stuart.”
One fan hopes the move is a step towards a future coaching career for the former Northern Ireland international, posting: “Congratulations, Stuart.
“Let’s hope this is the first step into greater involvement with the football department at LUFC, an obviously intelligent football brain and a man of great character.”
Stuart Dallas’ Leeds Career in Numbers
Dallas was a constant presence at Leeds through a period of transition, as the club transformed from perennial mid-table finishers in the Championship to a force to be reckoned with in the Premier League.
The versatile midfielder joined initially as a winger from Brentford in 2015, but became Leeds’ Mr. Versatile under Marcelo Bielsa.
Dallas went on to play a total of 267 competitive games for Leeds, with 72 of those coming in the Premier League.
He scored a total of 28 goals, with nine in the top flight, having scored his first goal against Wolves in 2015, and registered 18 assists during his playing career at Elland Road.
