Leeds United will be looking to bounce back from a disastrous 2-0 defeat to Burnley on the weekend with a win at Elland Road on Friday night against West Ham United.

Goals from Lesley Ogochukwu and Loum Tchaouna saw Leeds beaten at Turf Moor despite dominating large parts of the game. Alan Shearer was left shocked at Leeds failing to win, despite all their chances.

Micah Richards even described Leeds as “excellent” on the day, but simply could not show the composure required in front of goal. Burnley were much more clinical, scoring two goals from their four shots.

Karl Darlow might have been at fault for both goals and changes are expected for Friday’s game when West Ham come to Elland Road on Friday. A West Ham side that strangely, also played on Monday night.

What Leeds fans are saying about West Ham’s loss to Brentford

In a strange scenario, the Hammers played on Monday night and will do so again on Friday. A clash that saw two of Leeds’ relegation rivals do battle in London, and Keith Andrews’ side came out on top, 2-0.

Goals from Igor Thiago and Matias Jensen saw The Bees continue their impressive start under manager Keith Andrews, with the Bees tipped for relegation after losing star duo Bryan Mbuemo and Yoann Wissa.

Leeds fans have taken to social media after watching Friday’s opponents beaten by Brentford at home in a worrying result for Nuno’s side. Many are predicting West Ham to become “prime Brazil” on Friday.

This is the Leeds way. West Ham were woeful on Monday night despite home advantage and a side that on paper, should have beaten Brentford. But it would be typical of Leeds to then go and lose on Friday.

One fan posted “Watching how bad West Ham have been tonight, you just know they will beat us on Friday,” while another posted “West Ham are 100% beating us on Friday”. It would be typical Leeds.

Another warned Leeds that West Ham “won’t provide two honking performances in a row”, while another predicted “can see us getting a good xG on Friday without scoring of course”. All eyes on Friday, then.

Leeds United’s injury status ahead of Friday clash v West Ham

Against Burnley, Leeds were missing Noah Okafor, Willy Gnonto and Harry Gray. Dan James was back early after an ankle injury, but the Wales star has been missing for a few weeks and wasn’t ready to start.

Lucas Perri was also good for the bench, but was not deemed fit enough to start after his injury. Against West Ham, things will be better. Gnonto is expected to be back after surgery to fix a minor hernia issue.

James will be fitter and more match sharp after his outing at Burnley, Gray should be in training while Okafor will be touch and go ahead of Friday. There will be more options for Farke against West Ham.
