Ethan Ampadu has started Leeds United’s last two games, returning from an injury that’s limited him to just 11 Championship appearances this season.
Leeds United were dealt a hammer blow earlier in the season when Ethan Ampadu was sidelined.
The former Chelsea man is described as Leeds United’s ‘most important player’ by manager Daniel Farke, who’s not wasted any time in getting the Welsh international back into the starting XI.
Ampadu started in midfield alongside Joe Rothwell on Boxing Day with the impressive Ao Tanaka dropping to the bench.
As Leeds cruised to a 2-0 win against a misfiring Stoke City side, Ampadu put in a steady performance in difficult conditions at the bet365 Stadium.

Leeds fans on X had plenty to say about Ampadu’s performance vs Stoke, with many agreeing that the 24-year-old just makes the whole team look much more solid.
Fans described him as ‘so composed’ adding that Ampadu was ‘running the midfield’ and how he simply ‘improves us’ as a team.
One fan said of Ampadu: “Makes the defence look better whether he’s part of it or in midfield. Just makes us that bit more solid. Great to have him back, our captain is a big big player for us.”
Another Leeds fan said: “Just adds that class into our team, whatever he’s in defence or midfield, just a calming figure,” and a similar comment read: “Ampadu in midfield adds so much to our build up and progression, love it.”
One fan also added: “You need Ampadu in the side, he was quality tonight.”

Ethan Ampadu isn’t just a good player for Leeds United, he’s much more
Ampadu is clearly a player with great all round ability, which makes him the perfect player in the middle of the pitch.
Leeds now have some very good options in the middle of the park and it’s a nice headache for Farke to have.
Ampadu though is much more than just a good player on the pitch. Reports earlier in December revealed how Ampadu is good with Leeds’ young players, being a good role model despite being quite young himself.
Keeping him fit and firing will be key in Leeds’ promotion push this season.
