There was always going to be little chance that Rasmus Kristensen would have any future at Leeds United but now, The Whites have made it clear on their official website that Kristensen will leave.
Bought for £10m in the summer of 2022 in a reunion between the Denmark defender and Jesse Marsch, Kristensen struggled as Leeds were relegated. Even worse, he was one of eight to use Victor Orta’s clause.
The loan clause allowed players to go on loan in the event of relegation without Leeds being able to stop them from doing so. It meant Leeds had eight key players leave the club, unable to use or sell them.
Kristensen went to Roma with Diego Llorente, returning last summer as one of two players with the clause still active. He joined Robin Koch’s Frankfurt, where he has had a hand in six goals during 2024-25.

Leeds drop Rasmus Kristensen hint with article on website
Leeds currently have 16 players on international duty, including youngsters and those out on loan. One of them is Kristensen, after he scored and started a scrap with a ball boy on the weekend against Bochum.
The Whites posted an article on their website, publishing a timetable of the players on international duty. But they named 15 players, including Darko Gyabi and Charlie Crew who are currently out on loan.
However, there was no mention of Kristensen within the article in a blatant hint from the club that clearly, Kristensen has no future at Leeds and the club do not consider Kristensen as part of the side right now.

Rasmus Kristensen is set to join Frankfurt for a permanent £5m
Reports have emerged in the last month that Kristensen is set to complete a permanent move to the Bundesliga side he is currently on loan with. Frankfurt will pay £5m to sign Kristensen beyond his loan.
It is a move that makes sense for all parties even if Leeds are set to record a £5m loss. Kristensen has no future at Leeds and the player himself will want to join Frankfurt, given his form since joining on loan.
That is even if Leeds do need cover on the right of the defence, for Jayden Bogle. Sam Byram and Isaac Schmidt are those current options, but Byram is out of contract and Daniel Farke doesn’t trust Schmidt.
