Leeds United have announced some organisational changes to the club’s boardroom and transfer team ahead of a crucial summer, required to build a squad capable of avoiding Premier League relegation.

It has already been confirmed that Angus Kinnear is departing the club for Everton after eight years as a key part of the board room. The CEO has seen two promotions, two takeovers and hiring Marcelo Bielsa.

Following Kinnear’s move to Everton where he will be tasked with overseeing The Toffees’ revamp after their £400m takeover by the Friedkin Group and move to new stadium, Leeds confirmed his replacement.

Of sorts, anyway. Experienced Peter McCormick will join Leeds as an executive vice chairman and now, the club have confirmed in a statement that there are more changes with no mention of Nick Hammond.

Everton strike second blow after raiding Leeds for Angus Kinnear

Losing Kinnear, while he has often garnered criticism from Leeds fans, is a blow. Indeed, Kinnear has always been honest and has often been the voice for the Leeds board – proving transparent in interviews.

Now, he will go and the Yorkshire Evening Post say he is set to take a crucial member of the Leeds team with him. Indeed, football advisor and transfer expert Hammond will join Kinnear over at Everton.

Hammond has been at Leeds since relegation from the Premier League in a football advisory role when it comes to transfers, with a recruitment proving to be a big plus during Daniel Farke’s era as manager.

Other changes upstairs at Elland Road after Leeds announcement

With Hammond and Kinnear going – and possibly, head scout Gary Penrice also moving to Everton in due course – Leeds have announced changes. Adam Underwood has been promoted to sporting director.

Following a number of years with the club in other roles like head of academy, Underwood will now be tasked with overseeing the club’s work in the transfer window this summer, at such an important time.

Other changes see Morrie Eisenberg promoted to chief business officer, having worked as chief operating officer. Robbie Evans is also changing roles, becoming managing director at Leeds moving forward.
