Leeds United boost as Noah Okafor drops Instagram hint ahead of West Ham clash

Daniel Farke will be desperate to get Leeds back to winning ways on Friday night against West Ham.

The Whites are without a win in three Premier League games and currently sit 16th in the table, although the east Londoners are in worse shape with just a single victory in eight outings so far.

As Daniel Farke prepares his Leeds side for a hugely significant fixture, it looks like Noah Okafor is set to give the German a boost by returning to action.

Noah Okafor teases return from injury on Instagram

The Switzerland international unfortunately missed the 2-0 defeat against Burnley due to adductor issues, but he seems ready to return against West Ham.

Okafor has now posted a graphic on Instagram previewing the match, writing “game day” on his post – which includes several photos of himself in action – offering a strong hint he is going to be involved personally.

Farke suggested the Swiss attacker could be ready in time to face West Ham when speaking in his press conference earlier this week, saying: “We have to take some late decisions.

“We have problems in the offence. Noah Okafor and Willy Gnonto are making good progress in terms of their rehab, but they weren’t able to complete training this week.

“Noah wasn’t out as long as Willy, so it might be more realistic to include him, but there will be some late decisions. We will see.”

Okafor was missing from a training video posted by Leeds on Thursday following these comments – offering a strong hint he might have to sit out against West Ham – but his latest Instagram activity now suggests otherwise.

Noah Okafor return would be timely as Brenden Aaronson struggles to impress

Brenden Aaronson struggled on the right flank last time out at Turf Moor, missing a sitter which ultimately cost Leeds dearly.

While Okafor has exclusively played on the left flank since arriving from AC Milan in August, Jack Harrison was one of the better performers against Burnley while starting in that area, so perhaps it is time for the United States international to drop out if the 25-year-old is ready to return.

Having impressed so far with two goals in five Premier League appearances – however – the worry for Farke will be rushing Okafor back too early and risking a reoccurrence of his injury, so the German has a tough decision to make ahead of the visit of West Ham.
