We are not even a fifth of the way into the Championship campaign but Daniel Farke’s imprint at Leeds United is taking shape – and three Leeds stars are in WhoScored’s top 10 Championship players so far.
With the turbulence of the transfer window brushed aside after the market slammed shut on September 1, Leeds and Farke could focus on what happens on the pitch. The boss has built a proper Leeds team.
Illan Meslier, Cree Summerville, Willy Gnonto and plenty of others linked with the exit door stayed – while Farke added crucial players like Joe Rodon, Sam Byram, Ethan Ampadu and talismanic star Joel Piroe.
The Dutch attacker has scored four goals in five games for Leeds since arriving from Swansea, and he is one of three Leeds players in WhoScored’s top 10 Championship players so far, at this early stage.

Leeds trio in WhoScored top 10 Championship players so far
A goal on average, every 102 minutes. An incredible start, fully proving his £16m transfer fee. Piroe sits tenth in the top 10. In sixth, Georginio Rutter. Two goals, two assists and three man of the match awards.
An average rating, as per WhoScored of 7.48. Just in front of him, is Crysencio Summerville – our best player in terms of the stats, in fifth. Rated at 7.54. Three Leeds players then, in the league’s top 10.
Harsh on Ethan Ampadu, who is 32nd behind Dan James. At the top of the list sits a player Leeds sold in 2018 for a fee of £10m, in the form of Jack Clarke. Five goals, in eight games for Sunderland this term.
Next up for Piroe, Summerville, Rutter, Farke and Leeds is a trip to Southampton – who come into the game having lost their last four Championship matches. Including, a 5-0 loss to Clarke’s Sunderland.
